Microsoft is hiring for the position of Software Engineer in its Windows + Devices Fundamentals team. **About Microsoft:** Microsoft is a global technology company focused on building software, devices, cloud services and innovative technology solutions. **About the Team:** The Windows + Devices Fundamentals team is responsible for improving the reliability, compatibility, performance, battery life and sustainability of Windows devices. The role is ideal for an early-career engineer interested in understanding complex systems, from hardware and operating systems to applications. **Key Responsibilities:** - Analyze telemetry and trace data to understand device behaviour at scale. - Investigate system issues using debugging and performance tools. - Develop, test and maintain code across operating system and application layers. - Use data to validate improvements and support engineering decisions. **Eligibility Criteria:** - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience. - Strong debugging skills. - Interest in system performance and software engineering. **Required Skills:** - C / C++ - C# - Java - JavaScript - Python - Debugging and troubleshooting - System performance analysis **Good to Have:** - Knowledge of operating system internals. - Windows performance optimization. - Power optimization. **Employment Type:** Full-time **Work Arrangement:** Hybrid – 3 days per week in-office. · Skills: C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Python, Debugging, Operating Systems, System Performance, Windows Internals, Telemetry
